Get to know João Ferrari!
João is a DJ and musician from Rio de Janeiro. João is also doing his doctorate in music at the federal university of Rio de Janeiro.
João started DJ’ing in 2017 at the project Forró Forrall, but has studied forró since 2015 from the older Forró pé de Serra from the 50s and 60s, the “MPB” movement from the 80 and 90 and the ‘universitário’ movement from the 2000s.
João creativity did not stop there. He kept discovering and working with the most recent music from the 2010s, which he mixes with various MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) songs influenced by the music styles from northeast Brazil, creating an atmosphere mixing classic songs with newer ones.
