We highly recommend checking out our friends and partners who are actively involved in a variety of other vibrant forró initiatives across Stockholm.
Discount
Bring a friend and each of you gets 20% off your full-pass tickets, which include all workshops and the party. Share the joy of dancing, meet new people and help our forró community grow as you dance side by side.
Friskvårdsbidrag
Dance, learn to dance, get exercise and be happier all in once, and let your employer pay for it. The health care allowance is a tax-free benefit with the aim of creating well-being at work. This means in practice that you can buy a workshop ticket and let your employer pay – up to a certain agreed limit.
Donations
We are a non-profit organization. All our income is used to improve our events or create new events to promote forró in Stockholm. Your donations will be solely used for this purpose. Our members do not receive any kind of compensation.
Classes
Forró Stockholm holds classes on Wednesdays at iDance Studio Söder in Skanstull followed by a social dance. The group classes are a great way to learn, meet people, and make new friends before hitting the dancefloor. Their teachers are always available for you to ask questions and dance with.
Music
Listen to our previous parties, enjoy and make sure to subscribe to our channel on YouTube.
Forró
Forró is a couple dance and a genre of music that originated in northeast Brazil and has evolved to include many different musical beats and dance styles. In the beginning, forró was associated with the working class. However, it is now very much international.
Oh, and by the way – it’s pronounced “faw-ho” because the double “r” in forró is pronounced “ho” in Portuguese.
Our Vision
We envision a vibrant and inclusive forró community in Stockholm where Brazilian music, dance and culture bring people together and contribute to diversity, equality and inclusion.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create high-quality public cultural events in Stockholm where people can experience Brazilian forró through music, dance, workshops and social participation in a welcoming and creative environment.
