Dance, learn to dance, get exercise and be happier all in once, and let your employer pay for it. The health care allowance is a tax-free benefit with the aim of creating well-being at work. This means in practice that you can buy a workshop ticket and let your employer pay – up to a certain agreed limit.

Donations

We are a non-profit organization. All our income is used to improve our events or create new events to promote forró in Stockholm. Your donations will be solely used for this purpose. Our members do not receive any kind of compensation.

Classes

Forró Stockholm holds classes on Wednesdays at iDance Studio Söder in Skanstull followed by a social dance. The group classes are a great way to learn, meet people, and make new friends before hitting the dancefloor. Their teachers are always available for you to ask questions and dance with.

Forró

Forró is a couple dance and a genre of music that originated in northeast Brazil and has evolved to include many different musical beats and dance styles. In the beginning, forró was associated with the working class. However, it is now very much international.

Oh, and by the way – it’s pronounced “faw-ho” because the double “r” in forró is pronounced “ho” in Portuguese.

Our Vision

We envision a big forró community in Stockholm positively influencing our society and promoting diversity, equality and inclusion by strengthening our appreciation for forró music and dance.

Our Mission

Our mission is to arrange quality dance events in a friendly and creative atmosphere in Stockholm that promotes our values so that dancers get inspired to spread harmony in our society, learn dancing and enjoy.

Our Values

Everyone is individual and different.

Everyone is equal and respected.

Everyone is valued and included.

Our Goals

Dancers from different backgrounds.

Forró music, dance and history.

Diversity, equality and inclusion.
